Welcome to Gemheid Rough Collies

My passion for rough Collies started when I was a child living in Germany, my father was in the armed forces so there were no pets allowed. Once married I made the decision to get my first rough Collie, only a pet with no papers he was a lovely boy, he was really good with the kids he lived until 11 years old, with the house empty a friend told me of a Mrs Jean Palmer she had a litter of sable puppies, we made arrangements to visit and came away with an 8 weeks old puppy, we called her Holly. Then when she was 5 months old I saw an advert in our local paper advertising a blue puppy bitch, I phoned and made arrangements to visit, the breeder who was Mrs Angela Harvey (wicani) I brought home this most beautiful silver blue puppy, wicani satin wribbons, this puppy was the start of the Gemheid kennel and a very good friendship that has gone on for more than 20 years. We are a small kennel of 4 bitches and 1 dog. I do some showing and breed occasionally. When I breed I look for health, temperament, soundness and what in my opinion fits the standard.

Ruth has a lovely clean head beautiful eye and lovely ear carriage the most beautiful body shape , she moves like the wind, she has so much drive going away and coming forward, her feet are small and tight made for gripping the ground at high speed.
